Residential developer Xpercity has completed a multi-million-pound purchase of the 60,000 sq ft Lambert House in Cheadle, Greater Manchester for an office-to-residential conversion that will see the delivery of Weavers Yard, a new development that will include both Build to Rent and Build to Sell homes.

Designed by renowned London-based company Damion Marcus Burrows Architects, the 3.5-acre site will be repurposed to comprise 106 residential units. Weavers Yard will become a thriving mixed-use residential community.

The development will benefit from bold architectural features, revolutionising the look and feel away from the original purpose of the building. It will also reflect Xpercity’s commitment to positive social impact and community cohesion.

Future residents of Weavers Yard will benefit from excellent transport connections and local amenities.

“This is a project we’re really excited by. We’ve worked with some of the best names in the industry to bring together a development that will provide much-needed residential accommodation to this part of the city, whilst delivering something new, fresh and always of the highest quality.

“Since officially launching Xpercity, we have pushed on in terms of the level of deals we are doing. Our end-to-end offer means we’re motivated and able to act quickly to secure sites with high-potential and start creating better living environments quickly. Our ambitions are always underpinned by creating a strong sense of social good for the communities we work in, and Weavers Yard is no exception.”

Xpercity is part of the newly launched BR2.0 Group of companies, who earlier this year announced a ‘significant war chest’ to purchase and develop out residential sites across the North and Midlands.

Alongside other Group companies, Big Red Construction and Inspired, the BR2.0 Group offers an end-to-end service within the property sector, from site identification and planning, through construction and into ongoing maintenance.

By acting in this coordinated way, the Group can reduce inefficiencies within the timeline of a development, by having tighter control of the supply chain and any associated deadlines.
