Watkin Jones’ Ravensbourne Place Build to Rent development in Lewisham tops out. The commemorative event was held recently, and signals that the concrete framework is now complete – a proud moment for everyone involved, including clients, subcontractors and local councillors. The topping out was marked by layering the last remaining cement at the top of the building.
The Ravensbourne Place development is an important part of the regeneration in the Lewisham area. The South East London development is being forward funded by L&G Retirement, representing the Group’s second transaction with them. CBRE GI have also acquired an affordable housing block on the site on a forward commitment basis.
Once complete, the 36-floor Ravensbourne Place scheme will deliver 365 high-quality Build to Rent homes – a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Amenities include a gym, co-working space and shared amenity. The scheme will also include a roof top sky deck offering views over the capital, which will also be open to local residents.
The site works also include the re-naturalisation of the river Ravensbourne and attractive landscaping. As Ravensbourne Place is next to Lewisham train station, residents will also benefit from convenient and easy access to the city.
“Ravensbourne Place represents an exemplary London Build to Rent scheme, offering residents high quality homes to rent in a great location and helping to meet local housing needs. It will also be a welcome addition to the area as part of the wider regeneration of Lewisham, which offers long term value and sustainable living for future generations of the community.”Alex Pease, Chief Investment Officer, Watkin Jones
