Watkin Jones partners with Samsung at Central Quay BTR

Watkin Jones Group partners with Samsung to exclusively supply technology solutions, launching with the Central Quay Build to Rent scheme.

Developer and manager of residential for rent Watkin Jones Group and Samsung Electronics (UK) Limited have joined together on an innovative long-term partnership, launching with Legal & General’s Central Quay – their flagship Build to Rent scheme in Cardiff which was designed by Rio Architects.

Watkin Jones has awarded Samsung with an exclusive supply agreement to provide technology solutions for the 715 Build to Rent apartments at the Central Quay scheme, which broke ground in March 2023. Central Quay is part of a wider £1bn regeneration project in the Welsh capital, and the scheme is set to be the largest Build to Rent development in Wales.

Samsung will provide a range of technologies for multiple projects as part of the new partnership, across Build to Rent, PBSA and traditional homes. This includes air source heat pumps in addition to domestic appliances across refrigeration, cooking and laundry.

Samsung is also partnering with Fresh, Watkin Jones’ award-winning third-party operator to offer a range of exclusive discounts and offers across a range of Samsung appliances and technology to residents at Fresh managed schemes.

Samsung and Watkin Jones are also working together on a live site at the Sydney Road New Home development in Crewe, where Samsung are providing domestic appliances for use in single-family homes.
