Vertus, Canary Wharf Group’s residential leasing arm had temporarily closed its Club Vertus amenity spaces and physical viewing were put on hold. Vertus are now beginning to bring back some normality for its residents and new customers at its Build to Rent scheme – 10 George Street.
“We know how important the Club Vertus amenity spaces are to residents, and we hope that they begin to feel more comfortable with this ‘new normal’ now that they’ve been reopened.
“To help residents feel more at home with these changes, furniture has been removed in the amenity spaces to naturally promote social distancing and they’ll be able to book areas in Club Vertus online.”

During lockdown, the Club Vertus amenity spaces – furnished by Angel O’Donnell – were closed, but to ensure residents had the ability to stay active, engaged and inspired, Club Vertus moved online – to bring Canary Wharf’s vibrant community into residents’ apartments instead. Residents took part in a number of events online, including wine tasting hosted by Canary Wharf’s Humble Grape, quiz nights and exercise and mediation classes.

Vertus is now reopening these high-quality amenity spaces that are so important to residents, by introducing stringent social distancing measures; much like measures that have been announced for the wider Canary Wharf state – to ensure workers and visitors are safe.
In addition to moving furniture, Vertus has introduced measures such as a booking system for spaces in the lounge, private dining room and on the terrace. Residents can also book out the gym online. These spaces are cleaned by the on-site cleaning teams after each use.
“The amenity spaces at 10 George Street are fantastic and the social distancing measures now in place make you feel very safe. I’ve been down to the lounge a few times to do some work and get a coffee, since being reopened.
“Cleaning teams are always there cleaning the spaces used by people once they’ve left and wearing masks. It really gives me piece of mind.”

Like measures introduced by the wider Canary Wharf Estate, Vertus has also introduced limited lift capacity, social distancing measures in the lobby area, and they’ve set up hand sanitisers for residents, staff and people coming for viewings to use when they come in and out of 10 George Street.
Vertus has also reopen its show floor for physically distant viewings. Having introduced measures to allow viewings to take place, they have already had an increase in the number of enquiries and scheduled appointments booked. People wishing to view apartments can expect open-plan formats, with floor to ceiling windows that accentuate natural light throughout and high-specification appliances. Apartments are fully furnished by Camerich and residents have autonomy over interior decorations, making the apartments feel like home.
10 George Street, designed by GRID Architects has 327 Build to Rent apartments and is part of Canary Wharf’s exciting new district, Wood Wharf.
