Vertus, Canary Wharf Group’s residential leasing arm, launches the highest collection of Build to Rent apartments in the UK, located on the 58th floor of Newfoundland – the 220-metre building designed by Horden Cherry Lee. The apartments were designed by David Phillips.

Launched in May 2021, Newfoundland comprises 636 apartments, with over 90% already occupied. Prices range between £3,791 to £9,966 per month, which includes access to the communal amenities, concierge service, high-speed broadband and Samsung HD Smart TV with a TV licence.

“Level 58 at Newfoundland offers residents a type of living that is usually confined to some of the world’s most sought-after buildings – it’s rare that you can buy views like this, and even rarer to be able to rent them. As the tallest Build to Rent building in the UK, Newfoundland has quickly become an iconic addition to London’s skyline, and we’re excited that residents can now live at the top of this magnificent building whilst benefitting from the wide range of amenities it has to offer.

“Residents at Level 58 will be able to routinely take in some of the best views in the capital through floor-to-ceiling windows, while enjoying a sense of ultimate privacy. This is high-rise living at its best; it’s an urban sanctuary where you can experience luxury city living, leaving the hustle and bustle of London beneath you.”

The one- and two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom penthouses range from 703 sq ft to 850 sq ft to 1,788 sq ft. Each apartment has been decorated using a mixture of materials, including wood and saturated colours, with the aim of balancing the level of natural light. The three-bedroom penthouses are equipped with wine fridges and coffee machines.

“We’ve taken a tailored approach to the design of the Newfoundland apartments, including those on level 58, taking into consideration the unique character and layout of every home. We also wanted to reflect the building’s cutting-edge architecture in the interior design of the apartments, which meant extensive use of metal work in the details and lighting. The whole scheme is fully bespoke, with custom-made furniture created for each and every home, which adds that extra level of exclusivity to the apartments.”

Available to level 58 residents is Club Vertus’ programme of social events. The building also includes a lounge and games room, gym, two gym studios, a west-facing terrace, a BBQ, an outdoor children’s play area and a ‘kidult’ zone – a multifaceted work-play space designed for families that includes entertainment amenities for children, such as a rock-climbing wall with soft play surfaces, a slide and a TV zone.

Residents also have access to a private dining room, which is available for bookings, and a screening room with a wide-screen TV and games consoles. A 24-hour concierge is in place to assist residents with enquiries and receive parcels.

Those living at Newfoundland also have direct access to M Restaurant, which is located on the first floor of the building and offers private dining rooms and a member’s club. Residents will also soon be able to request room service from the restaurant.

Positioned at the western end of the estate, Newfoundland offers views eastwards over Canary Wharf and Docklands and westwards towards the city. The development is connected to Canary Wharf’s wider retail and leisure offering by a recently opened bridge, which also links the building to the new Elizabeth Line underground station, which is a short walk away.
