The UK Apartment Association (UKAA) announces it has appointed Apache Capital’s Investment Director, Ashley Perry as the new Vice-Chair of its Investor Lender Forum. With over a decade of experience, Ashley will work closely with Investor Lender Forum Chair and Executive Director of Valuation and Advisory Services at CBRE, Jason Hardman, who was appointed earlier this year.
For five years prior to joining Build to Rent investment manager Apache Capital in January 2022, Ashley was BTR Director at Liv Consult. At Apache Capital, Ashley is Investment Director. He helps shape the company’s investment strategy across its multifamily portfolio, focused on creating exceptional communities. The £4.1bn (AUM) Apache Capital entered into a 6,500-unit joint venture with Moda Living in 2015. In 2021, it created the UK’s first purpose-built-and-designed single family housing platform, Present Made. Apache’s capital partners include KKR, Harrison Street and NFU Mutual.
The Investor Lender Forum plays a critical role, aiming to inform and educate the Build to Rent finance sector on operational assets, return optimisation and risk management. It forms part of the UKAA’s collective voice, serving to de-risk the sector for developers, investors, operators and suppliers through a mixture of education, networking and research. The Vice-Chair appointment marks another step in the continuing expansion of the association’s regional presence.
“The Build to Rent sector is fast-becoming a central feature of the national housing mix as investors respond to growing demand for professional rental living, and there are signals that suggest government is beginning to recognise Build to Rent as a viable solution to our housing crisis. To this end, the UKAA is an important part of the industry’s educational and networking arsenal and I look forward to offering my support.”
