Manchester based Modish Studio, a new and upcoming multidisciplinary design practice has been created from a partnership between two industry specialists – and long-standing friends. The company offers developers a comprehensive design service with a difference.

The women behind Modish Studio are Laura Roberts and Rachael Cunliffe, who after serving many years within the industry in their respective fields, came up with the concept of creating a company that has the resident at the heart of their methods – and offers a fully bespoke service to both developers and residents.

Working closely with their clients, Modish Studio focuses on all elements from space planning and M&E specification, to branding and way finding. Logistics and installation are integrated within, and the team are currently working with developers across the Northwest, with ambitions to work with clients and make a positive impact across the UK.

Running an already established design studio, Laura has over ten years’ experience working within the design industry. After a decade of success in the residential sector, she was presented with the opportunity to design commercial spaces – so creating Modish Studio with Rachael was a natural progression in her career.

Rachael is well known around the Northwest property scene and sits as vice-chair for Women in Property for 2023. With vast knowledge of the sector and her own successful development consultancy ENGAGE 5, the team at Modish Studio are determined to make a positive impact on the industry.

“Both Rachael and I are really excited and passionate about offering all of our clients a unique and entirely bespoke design and supply service. I’m incredibly passionate about creating and delivering furniture, lighting, and accessories designs that are not currently available within this sector.

“Sustainability and the impact we have on the environment is something we as a company are very conscious of, and that is why much of our manufacturing will be UK based, meaning our supply chain is agile and robust and, in many ways, protected from global impacts.”
