Global real estate company CDL’s The Junction Build to Rent development in Leeds has been shortlisted within the RICS Awards 2024 Refurbishment/Revitalisation category.

The Junction scheme comprises 665 Build to Rent homes in a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom pet friendly apartments. Available both fully furnished and unfurnished, apartments offer an airy living space with floor to ceiling windows.

Amenities at the scheme includes a residents lounge, co-working space, private dining rooms, dog park, a gym and a multiuse sports pitch. The adjoining dining rooms are also used for social events including cookery classes, games nights, yoga and meditation classes, art lessons and pottery workshops.

Residents also benefit from lush outdoor green spaces, superfast wifi, electric car charging points, a 24-hour onsite team, and a 72-hour maintenance guarantee.

The operator, Native Residential, released a first look of the development last year. Designed by Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher (CJCT), the architects design vision for The Junction corresponds with the history of the site, seamlessly fusing heritage and modernity.

“CJCT are proud to see The Junction shortlisted in the Refurbishment/Revitalisation category of the RICS Awards 2024: the regeneration of the previously disused Grade II viaduct has been instrumental in the wider development of the area, bringing a new lease of life to the structure and its adjacent sites through the delivery of 665 new homes alongside Yorkshire’s first high line park. The success of project is testament to CJCT and the wider team’s commitment to a challenging, landlocked, brownfield site; we’re now looking forward to seeing the wider area take shape and develop into a vibrant new residential quarter with The Junction at its heart.”

The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. They recognise outstanding achievement, teamwork and companies. The entries are shortlisted across five categories – Residential Development, Community Benefit, Heritage, Public Sector and Refurbishment-Revitalisation.

Companies still can enter an additional six categories – to be judged nationally – and have until 26 April 2024 to submit entries. Amongst the national categories is the new Ambassador of the Year Award category.

Native Residential launched the first phase of apartments at The Junction in late 2022, on behalf of CDL. Since then, the scheme has reached completion and has welcomed its first residents.
