Earlier this year, Switch Hospitality Management (SWHM) announced its entry into the Build to Rent sector with a unique offering and hospitality ethos. With significant projects in the Midlands – including a 228 home residential development, a 16-storey office development, and its flagship Park Regis Birmingham hotel – SWHM extended their services into Build to Rent.
SWHM announces that Park Regis Birmingham has won the prestigious gold award for Best UK Hotel for the second year running at the hotel industry’s flagship awards evening, whilst also winning the silver place award for Best Incentive Provider.
The award carries greater significance as it is voted for by customers. SWHM believe hospitality is at the core of the Build to Rent market, so they train all of their teams at the UK’s best hotel, which means that when their receptionists and managers take over a Build to Rent scheme, the service expectation is already natural to the team.
“We were delighted to retain our award and push great venues like Celtic Manor into 2nd place. I have just come from one of our schemes where I watched the team complete a new tenant induction, again another basic standard for us that ensures our customers, we call our tenants customers, have the very best welcome and service.
“Our current rental yields are 12% above the market and crucially our retention is running 15% higher. We are managing voids with our short-term Apart Hotel initiative that is providing developers with two P&L’s and moving occupancy to the mid 90% level.”

The M&IT Awards 2022 – known as ‘the Oscars of the industry’ – was hosted at Evolution London and attended by over 750 guests. Organised by Meeting & Incentive Travel magazine, the awards ceremony was hosted by TV presenter and Strictly star Ore Odube – and brought together industry professionals to recognise outstanding performance across the industry and reward excellence in service.
