Developer Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures (SRMCV) has announced the appointment of Owain Thomas as Managing Director, Land and Development, as it continues to strengthen its development offering. Owain brings with him vast experience and knowledge of the construction and real estate market.

Owain will have overall responsibility for the SRMCV development team, as well as implementing a successful strategy to grow the SRMCV business. He will work with senior management to refresh and implement the overall development strategy for both ongoing and future projects.

Joining SRMCV from Cortland, Owain was the Managing Director of Investment & Development in Europe. At Cortland, he had responsibility for the origination and build out of all new investment opportunities – as well as managing Cortland’s construction team, Cortland Build.

Having previously held the role of Development Director at Cheyne Capital Management, Owain brings with him vast experience and knowledge of the real estate market, with a particular focus on the Build to Rent and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) sectors.
