Ropemaker Properties have appointed Fresh, the UK-based third-party manager of residential for rent, to mobilise and manage their upcoming Build to Rent scheme in Cardiff City Centre. The appointment comers off the back of Fresh being mandated to manage the first co-living scheme in the southwest. Watkin Jones exchanged contract in latter 2021 for the sale of the co-living scheme to Ropemaker Properties – the real estate arm of BP’s pension fund.
The Build to Rent building will provide 152 homes – a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and studios. The scheme is being developed by Crossmark Developments and is expected to be operational in June 2023.
Fresh is also providing advisory services during the development of the scheme, using resident insight to inform the design of the amenity space that includes a roof terrace with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ, gym, private dining area, residents lounge, library and co-working space.
“We’re thrilled to continue to build our relationship with Ropemaker Properties and to be able to offer Cardiff residents a high-quality home along with excellent amenities. This appointment is the next step in continuing to expand our multi-award-winning offering across Build to Rent, co-living and PBSA space.”
Craig Bryant, Strategy and Business Development Director, Fresh
The scheme will also host Fresh’s Be Programme for Build to Rent homes: Belong. This offers residents a full social programme, clubs, and experiences with the aim of supporting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging engagement with the wider community.
“The experience of our residents and the community around our schemes is hugely important to us. Throughout our exacting selection process, Fresh stood out for their insight and the proven difference that they make to resident’s lives, as well as their operational expertise. We are looking forward to working with them throughout the development of the scheme and property brand, and then on to operation.”
