Macquarie’s Build to Rent platform, Goodstone Living announced plans for its first Scottish project at the Ocean Drive site in Edinburgh’s most upcoming district, Leith. Known as Dockside Leith (previously named Skyliner), the scheme received planning permission for 338 homes across four mid-rise buildings of between ten and 14 storeys with ground floor amenities.

The four developments include Building A at 10 storeys with a ground floor commercial unit, Building B at 14 storeys, Building  C at 12 storeys, and Building D at 10 storeys with a ground floor commercial unit.

Goodstone Living have submitted a new proposal of application notice for Dockside Leith – to increase the height of Building A by five storeys, adding 45 Build to Rent apartments to the development and a roof level amenity space. The investors are also looking to amend the ground floor landscaping, working with 3DReid Architects to create additional public amenity space. The new proposal also looks to increase the number of cycle storage spaces, reduce car parking spaces, incorporate a car pool service, and incorporate a link corridor from Building A to Building B.

Two public exhibitions will take place in Q1 2023 – today (18 January) and 23 February at Ocean Terminal.

The Dockside Leith scheme will sit on Albert Docks and offers views over the Firth of Forth to the north and Edinburgh’s historic city centre to the south. Leith’s scenic waterside and creative hub known as The Shore is a few minutes’ walk away from the Dockside Leith site. It offers a range of local amenities including Michelin star restaurants, stylish bars and food precinct, whilst the adjacent Ocean Terminal shopping centre provides a diverse mix of local dining, leisure and shopping options for residents.
