Developer Related Argent and Barnet Council celebrate a construction milestone, the topping out of the first Build to Rent building at the Brent Cross Town development in North London.

Designed by Squire & Partners and being constructed by Galliford Try with financing from ICG Real Estate, the building will deliver 249 new Build to Rent homes alongside residential amenities across three new blocks. The development is set to complete in summer 2025.

Topping out continues the strong progress being made at the 180-acre Brent Cross Town regeneration. When complete, the new town will include 6,700 new homes, three million sq ft of offices, student housing, homes for later living, a high street, schools and 50 acres of parks and playing fields.

A total of six buildings are now underway – with the first expected to completed this summer. In total, over 930 homes – including Build to Rent, affordable and market sale homes – are on-site, along with 662 student rooms in partnership with Fusion Students.

The homes are being delivered as part of the joint venture between Related Argent and real estate investment manager Invesco Real Estate. Formed at the end of 2022, the partnership is set to deliver £600m of Gross Development Value at Brent Cross Town.

Located on Neighbourhood Square in the heart of the town centre, Brent Cross Town is within walking distance from the new Brent Cross West station, which opened to passengers in December 2023 and connects with central London in 12 minutes.

The new Build to Rent offering forms a major part of Related Argent’s portfolio of over 3,000 rental homes at King’s Cross, Brent Cross Town and Tottenham Hale. Its first Build to Rent development, Author King’s Cross, was completed in Autumn 2023. Related Argent has plans to expand its rental portfolio beyond the 3,000 homes.
