Planning permission for a new Build to Rent scheme in Gravesend, Kent has been approved by Gravesend Borough Council. The Build to Rent scheme is a joint venture between the Reef Group and Gravesham Borough Council. Works are expected to start on site later this year.

The new scheme is thought to be the first of its kind in the area. The development – which is in the town centre – will include 242 apartments with 20% offered at a discounted market rent. The apartments – which will be built across three buildings  – will be a mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes. There will also be a multi-storey car park with 186 spaces.

The Reef Group was advised by the planning team at Knight Frank – who secured the planning permission.

“The site was located in an extremely sensitive location, close to several heritage assets and the River Thames. By working closely with Historic England and Design South East, we were able to secure planning for a scheme that will revitalise Gravesend town centre to the benefit of the local community.”
