Property consultancy Rapleys has hired Tom Spencer as their new Head of Residential Development; their second senior hire in a week as Paul Dunne also joined as Building Consultancy Partner from Colliers.

Following Tom’s appointment, Rapleys has launched a new residential team spearheaded by Residential Partner Angus Irvine.

The appointment has been announced during the launch of Rapleys’ new Rapleys Living department, as a reflection of the continual growth and progression that the business has been experiencing.

The residential development agency service – previously led by Angus before he took on his expanded new role – will now be headed up by Tom, who joins Rapleys from Savills as their former Development Director.

“We are really pleased to have secured Tom Spencer as our new Head of Residential Development Agency. He brings a wealth of experience and will be a key part of our continued growth in the Residential Sector. The last 12 months have been hugely transformative for our business with a new brand, several acquisitions, the reorganisation of the business around fewer core Divisions and a huge investment in people. We are serious about continuing our growth in the right ways and the launch of Rapleys Living, led by Angus Irvine, is a major step forward in our ambitions. As such, we are looking at opportunities to launch other residential agency-related services and hire talented people to further grow our expertise and knowledge in this area.”

Nick Fell, Head of Residential, Rapleys

Tom is a specialist in residential, mixed-use and infrastructure related development across the South East.

Alongside his experience at Savills, Tom has also worked for a plc housebuilder and held general practice surveying roles within both the residential and commercial sectors.

The Residential Division has recently been made into one of four key service offers in the organisation and will encompass all residential agency functions including residential development agency (land acquisitions and disposals), senior living (care and retirement), student, co-living and Build to Rent (both multifamily and Single-family housing).

Rapleys’ market leading Affordable Housing and Development Consulting team sits alongside Rapleys Living within the Residential Division.
