Planning permission was approved for 153 new Build to Rent homes at an 11-acre site at St Marnock’s Bay in Portmarnock. The site is opposite to another Quintain Ireland development – Dún Sí, which consists of 150 homes. The area is well known for its beach and world-famous golf course, roughly 14 kilometres north of Dublin city centre.

The newly approved homes will provide residents with a travel time of less than 20 minutes by Dart to Connolly Station and are located just minutes from Dublin Airport, the Port Tunnel, the M1 and the M50. Partnering with DRES Developments to develop the site, the first homes are set to hit the market this summer.

“We are very pleased to have secured this planning approval which takes us a step closer to achieving our wider vision of delivering almost 1,000 new homes in Portmarnock. Quintain Ireland’s commitment is to create attractive and sustainable communities delivering the right mix of housing alongside high-quality amenities.”

Michael Hynes, Joint Managing Partner, Quintain Ireland

Quintain expanded into Ireland in November 2019 and is set to deliver 9,000 new homes and 600,000 sq. ft of commercial space within the Greater Dublin area. Quintain Ireland launched with an experienced team focused solely on Ireland.

“Quintain Ireland has hit the ground running since it was established in November and we are delighted to have secured our first planning permission. Eddie Byrne, Michael Hynes and the team they’ve put together have made a fantastic start and we’re very excited to continue developing our business in Ireland.”

James Saunders, CEO, Quintain

Quintain currently has an existing land portfolio in Ireland – covering 460 acres of prime assets in Adamstown, Clonburris, Partmarnock and Cherrywood. Once developed, the company will be the third largest residential developer in Ireland.

In London, Quintain is leading the transformation of Wembley Park – into a new cultural neighbourhood which will become the UK’s largest Build to Rent development with over 5,000 rental homes and 8,400 homes in total. It’s most recent Build to Rent building – Ferrum provides 627 apartments inspired by New York warehouses and loft-style living.
