The UK’s biggest and only Build to Rent trade show – the UKAA BTR Expo 2024 – is set to attract investors, procurement executives, operators, and leading suppliers from around the country to London on 29 February 2024. UKAA CEO Brendan Geraghty reveals why the event is such a draw and how delegates can Make the Connection for better Build to Rent business by attending.

When and where will the UKAA BTR Expo 2024 take place?

The UKAA BTR Expo takes place on 29 February 2024, running from 9am to 6pm. As in previous years, we’ll be hosting the trade event at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London. We drew over 750 delegates to this venue last year and look forward to welcoming even more in 2024.

What is the focus of the Expo this year?

Our headline focus is: Make the Connection. Everything is focused on facilitating better Build to Rent business – on bringing together the entire Build to Rent ecosystem to Make the Connection. We’ll have everyone from suppliers to investors present, creating an environment where all the right people are in the room. From showcasing products and services to offering platforms for innovation and face-to-face networking, we’ll have everything under one roof.

What can delegates expect on the day?

We have a packed programme, with content designed not just to inspire and share best practice, but also to deliver actionable results for our delegates and the Build to Rent sector. Some of the highlights this year will include our engaging panel discussions, which we’ve focused on three key business themes:

  1. Meet the buyer: leading investors and operators will discuss the evolution of operational management, including KPIs, gross to net and operational excellence.
  2. Key issues in Facilities Management.
  3. Whole life Build to Rent costing.

Our popular ‘FM Fever’ session returns for the BTR Expo 2024 as well. It’s an energetic series of facilities maintenance challenges, where teams compete against each other and the clock.

We’ll also have breakout sessions, workshops and more – all the high-quality content for which UKAA events are so well known. Plus, a wealth of networking opportunities throughout the day, from the opening breakfast session through to the closing drinks reception.

What’s new for the UKAA BTR Expo ’24?

We have some brand-new features this year, plus some reinventions of elements of the Expo that worked well in previous years.

Along with specialists stands including one dedicated to co-living, one of the most exciting parts is our Build to Rent Launch Pad. This is where businesses can share any product, service or idea that stands to benefit the Build to Rent sector. Solus presentation slots are either 15 or 30 minutes, with presenters connecting with an audience of investors, operators, developers, consultants and advisors. It’s a great way for brands to elevate their profile, generate leads and make a lasting impression on sector influencers.

We will also be hosting not one but three Reverse Trade Shows at this year’s Expo. The UKAA Reverse Trade Shows are unique to the Build to Rent sector and enable participating suppliers to secure quality face-to-face appointments with investors and operators, delivering high closing rates through scheduled meetings. Previously, we’ve delivered a single Reverse Trade Show. This year, we’re running three, connecting:

  • Suppliers with investors
  • Suppliers with operators
  • Operators with investors

These speed-dating style connections have proven highly effective in progressing Build to Rent business.

The final new element for 2024 is an invite-only VIP workshop for investors and operators to unpack issues in 3rd party contracts.

Are there still sponsorship and exhibition opportunities at the UKAA BTR Expo 2024?

Yes, we have a range of opportunities available for all budgets and capacity for 90 sector-leading exhibitors for the UKSS BTR Expo ‘24. I would encourage anyone considering exhibiting to book a stand quickly, as they are filling up fast as Expo approaches. We have different packages available for exhibitors in different areas of the event, from the atrium and speciality room through to the main gallery hall.

In terms of sponsors, we are delighted to welcome BoConcept as Lanyard sponsor and Mint as Drinks Reception sponsor. A limited number of opportunities are still available, and anyone interested in sponsoring, or indeed exhibiting, can find full details on the UKAA BTR Expo ’24 website.

Where can people who want to attend obtain tickets?

The UKAA BTR Expo 2024 is open both to members of UKAA and to non-members. Anyone wishing to attend can book a ticket on the UKAA website.
