Phil Spencer launched Move iQ to share his years of experience and advice with/for consumers moving home. With the aim of making the home moving process more efficient through education and championing best-in-class brands that are consumer-facing and relevant, Move iQ empowers consumers with advice from a trusted source. This helps them to make well-informed decisions, saving money and time in the process.
With the belief that everyone should have access to impartial unbiased advice, Phil launched the Move iQ YouTube channel and The Move iQ Podcast, the first property podcast providing advice to consumers.
Phil Spencer’s Move iQ have now created a series on its YouTube channel specific to renting in Build to Rent communities. This comes as increasing number of questions are being asked about Build to Rent from it’s audience, and the rise in popularity of Build to Rent in the UK.
The new series is a combination of episodes sharing the features, advantages, and tips from Phil on renting in a Build to Rent, as well as Move iQ presenters showcasing Build to Rent developments with participating operators in Move iQ Property Tours throughout 2023.
The first tour explores East Village and Get Living’s Portlands Place Build to Rent development, which offers consumers an insight into the scheme, its community and neighbourhood, and includes insights from both residents and a local business. Designed by architectural practice Hawkins\Brown with furniture packages from David Phillips, Portlands Place launched in August 2022 offering 524 new homes across two towers. Taking health and wellbeing to new heights, the scheme includes tailored wellness spaces, a Technogym equipped fitness suite and spin studio, and programmes by Antidote.
The content in this series will be released via a Build to Rent playlist featured on the Move iQ YouTube channel homepage. It will also be promoted across Move iQ and Phil’s social media platforms. The aim is to raise awareness to consumers about these alternative rental options and what Build to Rent has to offer.
All Move iQ platforms preserve and reflect Phil’s impartiality and consumer trust through content published across multimedia channels. This enables Move iQ to reach and engage with consumers on the content platform of their choice.
“Our Build to Rent series aptly coincides with the latest ‘Who Lives in Build-to-Rent? Report’, which confirms the increasing popularity of Build to Rent amongst UK renters, a trend we are also noticing at Move iQ. It’s a really interesting and important sector of the housing market providing essential housing when we have a distinct shortage of stock.
“I was particularly interested in the affordability findings from the report that stated Build to Rent has comparative levels of affordability to the private rented sector for all tenancy types – therefore making them much more affordable for anyone sharing.
“It’s important to consider what these developments offer and the potential savings that a renter could make. For example, many developments have a gym, co-working space, communal area etc. So, there is the potential to save yourself money if you have these memberships elsewhere.”
