Following Turley’s submission of an EIA Screening Report to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for its opinions on plans for View Point – a new Build to Rent development in Basing View, Basingstoke, Packaged Living and joint venture partner Buccleuch Property have now submitted a planning application.

The proposed high quality residential-led mixed used development will bring vibrancy and activity to the area, whilst also complimenting the existing and future mix of use classes and supporting the sustainable regeneration of the wider area.

If approved, the View Point scheme will deliver 370 new Build to Rent homes, modern office space, and new external public realm in a key location within Basing View.

Resident will benefit from the amenity spaces which includes co-working spaces, resident lounge areas, a cycle hub, and bookable entertainment, kitchen and dining facilities – as well as a managed programme of events.

The creation of a new publicly accessible landscaped public space and roof terraces will promote biodiversity, and will help support both residents and the wider Basing View community with their mental health and wellbeing.

The View Point development would also include 7,000 sq ft of commercial space, 124 car parking spaces with electric charging, integrated car club spaces and ample bike storage.

With sustainability a fundamental design criteria, the scheme focuses on creating highly sustainable homes with a highly efficient building fabric to minimise energy consumption.

The building will include air source heat pumps, EV charging, car club spaces and, alongside the excellent proximity to town centre amenities and public transport, the promotion of non-car forms of transport.

“Packaged Living are delighted to be investing into Basingstoke to create much needed high-quality, rental homes. With the environment and social values at the fore front, we can deliver a highly efficient, sustainable building for the Basing View area.”
