Property data and analytics science firm Outra has announced the launch of a new targeted Build to Rent platform aimed at developers, investors and operators in the Build to Rent sector.

The platform includes a comprehensive Build to Rent dataset on operational units utilising data at a household level, alongside the private rented sector (PRS), providing insight across the entire market.

Outra’s 75 billion datapoints across 30.8 million homes enable users to carry out deep market analysis at a national, regional, and local level within catchment areas in advance of capital deployment. This will allow them to price projects, improve strategic investment decisions and marketing strategies.

“The launch of Outra’s Build to Rent platform reflects the growing maturity and ongoing investment in the Build to Rent sector. Our comprehensive datasets enable firms to inform investment decisions across the full Build to Rent lifecycle.

“We see this as a vital tool for decision makers as the market becomes more competitive and the need to gain an advantage through speed of decision making and the use of data increases. Leveraging Outra analytics will equip them with the right tools to maximise the commercial success of their schemes.”

The platform will also allow users to navigate a competitive landscape – one that is still driven by the structural undersupply of institutional-grade products, the poor affordability of homes, and a chronic UK housing shortage.

The firm’s move into the Build to Rent market follows rising interest in the sector from institutional investors, pension funds and private capital.
