Established Build to Rent and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) developer – Osborne Developments – reaches practical completion at their Pelham Street Build to Rent scheme, named The Blockhouse.
Osborne Developments acquired the site in 2019 and subsequently secured Build to Rent planning consent in 2021. Forward funded by PGIM Real Estate, the project in Brighton city centre was built by Osborne Construction.

Designed by HNW Architects, The Blockhouse includes two buildings comprising 135 new homes in a mix of studio, one, two and three bedroom Build to Rent apartments, maisonettes and townhouses.
Amenities include a lounge, gym and rooftop terrace with integrated BBQ. Residents also benefit from an on-site reception, electric vehicle charging, and both bike and parcel storage. Touchstone have been appointed as the managing agent for the scheme.

The Build to Rent development will achieve WiredScore certification, confirming the homes are digitally future-proofed and have some of the best levels of connectivity. The Blockhouse also marks the first Build to Rent building in Brighton to attain the globally recognised verification of infrastructure connectivity.
Located 250 metres from Brighton Railway Station, The Blockhouse development is also adjacent to the iconic North Laine Conservation Area, providing residents with over 400 independent shops and cafés on their doorstep.
