UK-based bathroom pod manufacturer Offsite Solutions announces its highest-ever order intake, with nearly £40m of new contracts. This is for the manufacture of around 10,000 units and is a significant increase on the same period last year.
Contracts have been awarded for steel-framed, GRP composite and enhanced GRP pods across a range of residential sectors, including Build to Rent, student living, apartments for shared ownership and affordable housing, and market sale.
“Despite these uncertain times, the outlook remains buoyant for our business. We have a solid forward order book but with additional capacity to offer more developers and contractors the greater certainty of offsite manufacturing.”James Stephens, Managing Director, Offsite Solutions
The new contract wins include nearly 1,000 shower pods for student projects for Equans in Birmingham and London, 850 pods for Midgard for another Moda Living scheme, and over 900 pods across three new projects for Wates for mixed-tenure residential schemes.
“A substantial proportion of this order intake is for long-term repeat customers, including developers such as Fusion Students, Downing, Moda and Urbanest, and leading main contractors including Galliford Try, Vinci, Mace, Wates, Willmott Dixon and Winvic. We are also delighted to see new clients and contractors using our pods, such as Telford Homes, Equans, IQ Student Accommodation, Midgard and RG Group.
“We are definitely benefiting from the surge in interest in offsite manufacturing and MMC, which are transforming UK construction. Bathroom pods are fast becoming a preferred method of procurement for many developers and contractors.”James Stephens, Managing Director, Offsite Solutions
Offsite Solutions offers a large range of pods to suit many different building types and applications. Options include steel-framed bathroom pods with porcelain-tiled finishes for high-end apartments, co-living, student residences and hotels, and robust, low-maintenance GRP composite shower pods for student accommodation, Build to Rent, care homes, social housing and healthcare.
Offsite Solutions has also developed steel-framed utility pods for apartments and studios for Build to Rent and Build to Sell developments.
“Our approach to bathroom construction, pod technology and design enables our clients to have a better engineered, consistently high-quality product than is achievable with in-situ building methods. We can also reduce the impact of skills and labour shortages that are hitting the construction sector by employing a stable and multi-skilled workforce at our offsite manufacturing centres in Somerset.”James Stephens, Managing Director, Offsite Solutions
