Real estate consultancy Naismiths has promoted Charlotte Whincup to Associate Director, following high-level performance over a three-year period.

In her new role, Charlotte will now have a particular focus on expanding Naismiths’ building surveying offering services in the East Midlands, in line with the recent strategic partnership announcement with consultancy Edmond Shipway.

“Being appointed to Associate Director at the company is a huge milestone for me and I want to thank Naismiths for the support they have given me up to this point. It’s not only great to work for a company that rewards its staff for their hard work, but also one that recognises the potential of staff for future growth.

“I’m looking forward to applying my experience and strengthening our presence within the East Midlands, drawing on knowledgeable resource from Edmond Shipway. I’m particularly excited to take a lead role and can work with a bigger team in the region, providing clients with ongoing expertise and enhanced service offerings.

“It’s reported that women are responsible for just 15% of senior positions in the construction industry, so to even play just a small part in that number increasing is another proud moment.”

After joining the consultancy in 2021, Charlotte is also Naismiths’ sustainability champion, regularly providing clients with advice.

She is currently in the process of completing a sustainability qualification with IEMA in addition to her role, which will help her provide further insight to both clients and Naismiths for its own ESG goals.

“Charlotte’s promotion is simply the worthy reward for her progression since she joined us. Not only is she extremely capable within her role, she’s also very well-thought of among the team and is known for building fantastic relationships with clients.

“It’s a very exciting time here at Naismiths following our partnership with Edmond Shipway and we are very much looking forward to seeing Charlotte work closely with the team there, implementing a successful strategy for growth in the East Midlands.”

Ben Harwood, Chief Executive, Naismiths

Charlotte’s promotion follows Naismiths recent appointment announcements. The company appointed Ben Harwood as their new Managing Director as they marked their 60th year milestone, and they welcomed three new team members – Gareth Parker, Chief Technology Officer, Philippe Hornsby, Building Surveyor and Harry Stothard, Project Manager.
