Developer London Land Group recently celebrated reaching a key milestone at The Waterfront residential development’s construction journey as the first pre-cast panel was lowered onto the site. This significant event represents the next phase in the development’s progress, as the 291-apartment scheme gains momentum at speed.
The transfer deck for the two water facing houses, Distel and Estar, was completed on 20 October with construction partner Creagh, now on-site with London Land Group installing the pre-cast concrete façade panels. With this achievement, the construction of the developments five blocks – of which three buildings are Build to Rent – will accelerate, aiming to complete one floor every one to two weeks.
Situated along Upton Lake in Poole, Dorset, The Waterfront development includes a mix of one-, two, and three-bed penthouse duplex apartments. Amenities include an entrance lobby and concierge, communal courtyard with office pods, two furnished resident club lounges and exclusive roof terraces with views across the harbour. Work started on development in September 2022 and is on track to welcome residents from Summer 2024.
“We are thrilled to be marking this milestone and celebrating the spirit of collaboration that has brought us to this point. Our partners including Benchmark Architects, BTP, Creagh, Engeneeria, Woodmace and Rentec alongside our project team have been instrumental in transforming our vision for The Waterfront into reality and we are now much closer to offering our residents a vibrant, waterfront lifestyle that embraces quality, convenience and innovation.”
Mario Luca Balducci, CEO, London Land Group
The Waterfront development will be the first delivered by London Land Group under a multi-million-pound innovation partnership with Samsung Electronics UK that will see the 291 apartments fitted out as fully connected homes, offering residents the ability to connect and control all their smart devices through Samsung’s SmartThings platform.
This milestone achievement quickly follows the announcement of three award wins at the UK Property Awards for the development and its architecture.
