Kosy Co Living submits a planning application for a multi-use scheme which will deliver modern co-living homes, co-working space and commercial units, alongside the enhancement of two key public areas. Proposals also include over 400m2 of employment floorspace on the ground level.

The scheme would include 77 spacious co-living studios complemented by a communal kitchen and living areas. An amenity area on the rooftop level will provide spaces for exercise, relaxation and leisure. The aim of the co-living scheme is to foster a strong sense of community and social interaction among residents.

The plans also include the development of key public underpasses and pathways next to the site, which will provide safer and more attractive routes in and out of the city centre.

Residents of the co-living community benefit from a free gym membership to the in-house health and wellness facility. The building will also be staffed around the clock, ensuring the highest level of service, security and comfort for residents.

There are currently two existing tenants including a charity, who would occupy modern and upgraded retail and workshop spaces on the ground floor once the scheme is complete.

In line with Kosy Co Living’s commitment to ESG, the proposed co-living development will utilise high-quality and locally sourced materials – including the renowned Bath Stone to preserve the architectural heritage of the area.

The team have explored several ways that the co-living development can be futureproofed in terms of adaptability and sustainability and are aiming for a BREEAM Excellent rating. The building will have heat source pumps and a solar PV energy system, harnessing renewable energy sources to minimise the carbon footprint. Bespoke landscaping initiatives are also being explored, to enhance biodiversity – as well as leading technologies to enhance operational efficiencies.
