Knight Frank has announced the appointment of its new Head of Build to Rent – Jonny Stevenson, as its former Head, Peter Wyatt, leaves the firm to join Pitmore.

As Head of Build to Rent, Jonny will lead a team of nine – working with the UK’s biggest developers and investors to broker major forward funding deals, as well as acquiring and disposing of stabilised assets.

“Jonny joins at a very exciting time for the UK’s Build to Rent sector. Despite wider market challenges, we’re coming off the back of a record year in 2020, with many of the biggest funds, developers and operators looking to significantly increase their exposure in 2021 and beyond. Our latest research suggests that there is around £42bn waiting to be deployed into the Residential Investment sector over the next four years, and we are rapidly growing our teams to support this demand.

“We thank Peter for all his work in growing our Build to Rent team in recent years, and he now hands the reins over to Jonny, who we know will do an excellent job in taking the team from strength to strength.”

Nick Pleydell-Bouverie, Head of Residential Capital Markets, Knight Frank

Jonny joins with 18 years’ experience. He has previously held roles at Leon Capital and Access Self Storage. Jonny’s background lies in planning and development – specifically within the Build to Rent and industrial sectors. In previous roles, Jonny developed an in-depth understanding of the acquisition, planning and funding aspects of the sector – skills he will bring to his new role at Knight Frank.

“Over the next three years, Knight Frank’s Residential Development & Investment team plans to build on our existing market-leading position by significantly bolstering our offering across a number of key opportunity areas, particularly Planning, Development, Residential Investment, Debt and Capital Advisory.

“Despite the ongoing market headwinds, we are confident about the years ahead and are dedicated to increasing our market share across the whole residential development and investment piece.”
