Hearthstone Investments, a fund manager specialising in affordable private rented housing in the UK, has today announced the appointment of Antonia Haralambous to the newly created role of Strategy and Research Manager.

Antonia joins Hearthstone Investments after six years at Knight Frank, most recently as a Research Associate covering both commercial and residential property across a range of European markets.

“We are delighted to announce Antonia’s appointment to this newly created role. She will provide additional capacity and leadership to develop and apply our proprietary research for the benefit of our investors.

“She will also work with the broader team in driving forward the next phase of our ESG strategy.”

Andrew Smith, Chief Investment Officer, Hearthstone Investments

Hearthstone Investments manages residential assets on behalf of UK Local Government Pension Schemes and other institutional investors. The fund manager oversees a growing investment portfolio, currently totalling over 1,800 homes in targeted locations across the UK.

In May, the company gained regulatory approval to market its Hearthstone Residential Fund (HRF) to institutional investors in the Netherlands. In the same month, Hearthstone Investments also acquired 45 single-family housing (SFH) Build to Rent homes in Exmouth.

Acquisitions by Hearthstone Investments have increased the provision of energy efficient and well-maintained rental homes affordable to residents in areas with an undersupply of good quality rental housing. Homes managed by the fund manager are rented by residents on average salaries, many of whom are key workers.

The company is also committed to working with housebuilders in the transition towards net zero. The residential assets it manages emit an average 1.2 tonnes of CO2 annually, significantly below the national average of six tonnes.

A pioneer in the sector with its first fund launched in 2012, the team at Hearthstone Investments brings a decade of experience and a demonstrable track record. Its success is based on long term relationships with investors, residents, housebuilders and agents.
