As part of ‘Hearthstone Residential Fund 2’, the Bishops Stortford delivery will put more single-family Build to Rent homes on the market for private renting. The transaction of the Bishop’s Stortford homes between Hearthstone Investments and Countryside Partnerships will be the first, with hopes that many more will follow.

“The excellent work between Countryside Partnerships and Hearthstone Investments has resulted in this first transaction – hopefully with many more to come. We really enjoyed the collaboration with their team with a mutual understanding of the demands for good quality and energy-efficient private rental housing.”

Helen Simons, Investment Director, Hearthstone Investments

Part of the St James’ Park development, the purchase of the homes has become of the efforts to transform the Hertfordshire based market town of Bishop’s Stortford.

Set to include over 750 new homes, a care home and a business park, the St James’ Park development is situated close to two highly rated schools and leisure facilities.

“Working with a reliable, responsive and committed specialist such as Hearthstone Investments for the new neighbourhood at St James’ Park ensures not only that a proportion of high-quality new homes will be available for much-needed private rented housing, but also that the development continues to meet the needs of the local community.”

Verity MacMahon, Managing Director, Home Counties North, Countryside Partnerships

Outdoor spaces will include children’s play areas, a wildlife corridor and public green space.

Deployment for the ‘Hearthstone Residential Fund 2’ is well advanced, with investments to date in a regionally diversified portfolio of UK private rented housing in 20 locations.

The acquisition with Countryside brings the total homes managed across Hearthstone Investments’ portfolio to over 1,600.

Hearthstone Residential Fund 2 also raised £152m at its final close.
