Developer HBD, part of Henry Boot, has announced the promotion of Simon Raiye to Head of Region at the HBD Birmingham office, who will start the role on 1 July 2024.

In 2015, Simon joined HBD as a Development Manager. He played a key role in the company’s regional growth, earning a promotion to Development Director in 2020. Simon has been an integral part of the developer’s Birmingham team, bringing extensive experience across industrial and logistics, urban regeneration and residential sectors.

The shift follows the forthcoming departure of Director Justin Sheldon, who, after a decade of notable contributions to the business, is taking on a new role elsewhere. Justin helped deliver a series of major developments for HBD, most notably the regeneration of the former Imperial Tobacco Factory, which was transformed into a 426,000 sq ft industrial and logistics scheme, Power Park.

“Justin has played a key role in helping establish HBD’s presence in the Midlands, and we wish him all the best in his new role.

“We have no doubt Simon will excel in his new position as Head of Region; he is a key player in the Midlands market and has been instrumental in bringing forward numerous major projects such as SPARK in Walsall, Setl in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, and our exciting new residential scheme, Neighbourhood.

“We look forward to Simon continuing to build HBD’s presence in the Midlands, expanding our development and investment pipeline, and building further on his successes to date.”

Vivienne Clements, Executive Director, HBD

HBD’s development pipeline currently sits at £1.3bn, with a focus on industrial and logistics, residential, and urban regeneration projects, delivering high-quality, sustainable schemes that meet stringent ESG requirements.
