Dublin City Council has given the green light to plans for 1,102 residential units – including Build to Rent homes – on the outskirts of Dublin.
The plan was submitted by Shorevale Investments on behalf of the Royal Liver Assurance Retail Park. The site is on Old Naas Road in Dublin 12. The site includes nine blocks ranging from seven storeys upwards, a 203 apartment Build to Rent scheme and an 18-storey office building.
The development will have a landmark tower reaching 77.6m high. The council planning report said – in principle – that a high-density development was deemed necessary to achieve national objectives. It also says the plan would secure redevelopment of an underutilised urban land in a prime location.
Approval for the site followed revised plans submitted by the developer in February, who will also pay €7.7m in planning contributions for public infrastructure and facilities benefiting the development.
