Grainger announces a September launch for its Nautilus Apartments Build to Rent scheme at Fortunes Dock in East London. The schemes name celebrates ‘Nautilus’ – the vessel built by Thames Ironworks and Ship Building, operating from Canning Town between 1835 – 1912.
Nautilus Apartments includes 146 new Build to Rent homes – a mix of one and two bedroom apartments. The interiors have taken inspiration from the vessel, with bronze accents and wood panelling. Apartments include storage, modern integrated appliances, furniture and free fibre optic WiFi. Monthly rent prices start from £1,905.
Nautilus Apartments also celebrates the area’s rich shipping history and nearby River Thames, with décor created to reflect wave and water, with flowing upholstery textures and wall features.
Amenities at the scheme include a gym, resident’s lounge, meeting booths and seating areas for both working and socialising. There is also a podium garden with extensive landscaping. All amenities are included within the rent, to encourage residents to meet new people and socialise with neighbours within the building.
A dedicated on-site Residents Services team will also be available to help with resident queries, whilst building a community within the development, hosting regular events in the amenity spaces for residents to meet and socialise with new people.
With only 15% of the nation considering their neighbour as a friend in 2023, and with 80% of Brits admitting to experiencing feelings of loneliness at least once a month – revealed in a recent survey conducted by Grainger plc – it highlights the opportunity for landlords to provide renters with additional social spaces.
The scheme also includes several commercial units on the ground floor which are available to local businesses.
Nautilus Apartments is located within Hallsville Quarter – a new neighbourhood located less than a five minute walk from Canning Town Tube Station, which provides easy access to Canary Wharf, the City and central London.
The Nautilus Apartments Build to Rent scheme is the second development due for completion within the wider Fortunes Dock scheme from Grainger following the success of neighbouring Argo Apartments and against a backdrop of strong rental demand in the area.
“Nautilus Apartments is a great new addition to our wider Fortunes Dock scheme, following the successful launch of Argo Apartments in 2018.
“Hallsville Quarter is an excellent East London location, with a unique blend of high street and independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
“We look forward to welcoming our new residents later on this summer and building a new residential community in this thriving location.”Helen Gordon, Chief Executive, Grainger
