Gerald Eve has further strengthened its growing Build to Rent and wider private rented sector (PRS) capabilities with the recruitment of Bobby Barnett as a partner in the firm’s Capital Markets team. Bobby will be based at Gerald Eve’s West End office once restrictions allow.
Bobby joins from Lambert Smith Hampton where he was a Director for Build to Rent and PRS. Bobby advised investors on the sourcing and acquisition of schemes, as well as working with developers to advise on the creation, operation and forward sale of assets. Prior to this, he oversaw Countrywide’s Build to Rent investment management team – responsible for identifying, acquiring and operating schemes for the Vista Fund.

Bobby’s arrival is part of the strategic focus for Gerald Eve – on its new ‘living’ platform, advising on the full lifecycle of assets including Build to Rent, PRS, co-living, student accommodation, care homes and retirement housing, serviced living and hotels. Incorporating more than 50 experts in capital markets, planning, development, operations and finance, the new platform has seen Gerald Eve secure consent for some of the sector’s most prominent schemes and advise on completed and under-offer investment transactions totalling more than £200m over the past six months.
