Vermont provides a construction update at Capital&Centric’s Farnworth Green Build to Rent project.

Capital&Centric’s Farnworth Green project is a re-boot of the outdated precinct into a town centre neighbourhood. The scheme will deliver operationally net zero homes in a mix of 85 one- and two-bedroom Build to Rent apartments and 12 two- and three-bedroom single-family homes, alongside 13 commercial units and a community hub.

Vermont Construction is the main contractor for the project, which has seen the roof structures complete to both blocks C and D, with roof coverings now well underway. M&E and dry lining are progressing well through both blocks.

Scaffold erection is also nearing completion and brickwork to the superstructure has started. The timber frame structures of both blocks A and B have been completed.

Felt & batten is ongoing to ensure weathertight and ready for internal works. Block E foundations have also been poured and work is ongoing to the ground floor slab.

Vermont is due to complete the Farnworth Green scheme at the end of 2024, which is being delivered with Bolton Council and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. The scheme topped out in March this year.

Farnworth Green is intended to set a new blueprint for the future of town centres. The trailblazing approach is aimed at striking a balance between homes alongside shops, retail spaces, community facilities and green spaces.

Capital&Centric’s end goal for the project is to generate a buzz and put the town centre back at the heart of the community.
