Build to Rent management company Dandara Living has signed a forward funding deal with residential investment and management company Greystar Real Estate Partners for Renshaw’s Yard, a Build to Rent scheme in Surrey. Dandara Living was advised by Savills.

In December last year, planning permission was granted for Build to Rent to be included at the scheme. Working alongside Greystar, Dandara Living will act as developer and contractor for the development, which has been designed by Hodder + Partners and Aros.

Renshaw’s Yard will deliver 391 new homes – a mix of 345 private units, six private three-bedroom townhouses and 40 Discounted Market Rent (DMR) units. Amenities include a lounge, private dining, co-working space, gym, and private courtyard gardens alongside a basement with 215 car parking spaces and 396 cycle storage spaces.

“Securing this deal with Greystar represents a significant milestone for Dandara and recognition of our position as a key player in the UK’s Build to Rent sector. It has been a huge team effort and I’d like to thank everyone involved for their commitment and contribution in making this happen.”

Jim Davies, CEO, Dandara Living

Renshaw’s Yard is situated nearby the town centre and is a five-minute walk away from the local train station where residents can get to Central London within 35 minutes. It also provides excellent links to key outer London locations via the M25 motorway.

The site has been cleared for construction, which Dandara Living will start in Q4 2023. The development is expected to complete in Q3 2026.

“The acquisition of Renshaw’s Yard will provide much-needed rental housing in Surrey, a region constrained by limited supply but fast-growing demand for a high-quality rental product. Part of the M3 local enterprise corridor, and adjacent to the M4 tech corridor housing several global creative and technology companies, Staines provides excellent proximity to employment hubs and is increasingly attracting new talent to the region. This has led to significant residential-led regeneration in the areas, with approximately 1,750 apartments currently in the pipeline to house existing and new residents drawn to Staines’ well-connected location paired with enviable riverside living.”
