Birmingham City Council’s planning committee grants planning permission to Court Collaboration for its Ora Build to Rent scheme in the city centre. The name Ora is inspired by the Latin adjective, Meliora – meaning ‘the pursuit of better’.

Court Collaboration will redevelop the brownfield site, which will see a 1960s eyesore car park demolished and replaced with two Build to Rent towers. The 46-storey tower and additional 15-storey tower will house 581 contemporary Build to Rent homes – a mix of one and two bedrooms.

Designed by CallisonRTKL, Ora will offer world-class private amenities – including rooftop facilities, flexible co-working space, a gym and more. A concierge service will also be in place for residents.

The Ora development is next to Centenary Square, moments from the Colmore Row business district and adjacent to the beautiful City Centre Gardens.

“We are thrilled with the council’s decision to grant planning permission. This ambitious project will reinforce our commitment to operating at the forefront of sustainable design and innovative construction.

“Ora will also contribute to the exciting transformation currently taking place in Birmingham. This isn’t just a building or a home, it’s the new face of renting. It’s a lifestyle choice designed to foster collaboration, engagement and socialisation with your neighbours and the wider community. We look forward to announcing a start date for the project in the near future.”
