Leading mixed-use developer – Comer Homes – recently acquired a significant 1.05-acre site on Latimer Road, Luton, with planning consent in place to develop a 238 apartment Build to Rent scheme with commercial space and undercroft car parking. Comer Homes has continued to increase its position as a leading provider in the Build to Rent sector, so what other schemes does the company have in its Build to Rent pipeline?

Royal Winchester House, Bracknell

Comer Homes recently launched 338 Build to Rent apartments at Royal Winchester House, Bracknell. The scheme is a striking new build, 19 storey development offering a mix of one and two-bedroom homes available from £1,000pcm.

Apartments at Royal Winchester House have been elegantly finished with walnut timber flooring throughout – apart from porcelain tiles to walls and floors in bathrooms. Spacious balconies and terraces have been finished with contemporary granite texture flooring and glass balustrading, and the contemporary kitchens feature quartz worktops and integrated Bosch appliances.

Amenities include a state-of-the-art health centre and gym, secure car parking, cycle storage, a hotel-style lobby with coffee bar and a 24-hour concierge.

Mast Quay, Woolwich

Phase three of the Mast Quay scheme will deliver 204 new Build to Rent homes – a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments split across three new waterfront buildings – Sky Sail, Moon Sail and Royal Sail. Majority of the homes provide spectacular river views. The scheme is set to launch this month (March 2022).

The London scheme is ideally located – and is a short walk from Woolwich Crossrail Station. Woolwich Arsenal station also offers residents direct access to DLR, Thameslink and Southeastern rail services.

Amenities include a private gym and café/wine bar, 24-hour concierge, private car parking, a car club scheme and electric charge points.

Whyteleafe House, Surrey

The first phase release at Whyteleafe House is also scheduled for 2022, and will deliver a contemporary collection of 167 one, two and three-bedroom homes. The Build to Rent scheme is in the most desirable location of Whyteleafe, and is close to the local station.

Residents will benefit from a wealth of amenities which include a private gym, hotel style lobby and 24 hr concierge whilst enjoying excellent transport links into central London.

Tower Point, Enfield, London

The final piece in Comer Homes’ Build to Rent jigsaw is Tower Point in London – a gated development located in Enfield town centre. The striking modern building is a remarkable architectural achievement in one of London’s greenest boroughs. 66 apartments have been released as part of the final phase of the scheme and include a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments – all of which benefit from either a balcony or terrace.

The scheme is 20 minutes from the city by train and is close to local shops and amenities. Onsite amenities at Tower Point include a 24-hour concierge service, private underground parking, and a Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Centre complete with a 20-metre swimming pool and spa facilities.

“Affordability now for young people is getting harder, so Build to Rent will play a big part in the future of the housing market and meeting a growing demand. We are buying in growth areas like Luton and launching new phases at successful schemes in Bracknell and Woolwich, amongst others. Build to Rent is a pig part of our future growth plans.”
