Casa by Moda, Moda Living’s single family homes brand welcomes a trio of new starters as the business grows at pace to meet demand for new rental homes across the UK. The new appointments brings the total number of hires this year at Casa by Moda to ten. The new hires come as the business prepares to start work on its first single family homes neighbourhoods by the end of 2022 across four sites, which will deliver 700 new homes.
Mike Craddock, Simon Gardner and Cameron Boland have all joined Casa by Moda in recent weeks. Joining from Brierley Homes, Mike Craddock enters the business as Senior Development Manager. Working alongside Land Director Chris Procter, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his surveying and housing background – specifically in the Yorkshire region. In his role at Casa by Moda, Mike will oversee the delivery of new homes across the UK.
Cameron Boland joins the business from Keepmoat Homes as a Land Manager. His previous experience within land and partnerships management will support the acquisitions team as it actively seeks out new sites across the Midlands and South Yorkshire.
Simon Gardner joins the team as Project Manager – coming from Moda Living’s sister company Caddick Developments. Simon has over 20 years of industry experience, which includes seven years within Casa by Moda’s parent company Caddick Group. In his new role, Simon will manage the delivery of Casa neighbourhoods and will work alongside contractors to the point of practical completion.
The trio of new starters brings the total number of Casa by Moda’s employees that have joined the business since the beginning of 2022 to ten. Since launching the platform last year, seven Caddick Developments and Caddick Land team members joined the team to support the new venture in its delivery of 5,000 new homes by 2025 – worth a combined £1.5bn.
Rob Gill joined Casa as Head of Acquisitions while Jordan Martin, Jonny Whitely and Harry Barker joined as Land Managers for Yorkshire and the North East, North West and Midlands and South respectively. Kate Sheehan joined the team as Marketing Manager with Technical Director Andy Cramer and Technical Manager Jonathan Philpott completing the wave of new hires.
“Work is well underway at Casa by Moda, with the team on track to be onsite with 700 state-of-the-art new rental homes by the end of 2022, the platform’s first full year.
“The new additions to the team bring a huge wealth of talent and experience that will drive the business forward as it continues to meet demand for quality, professionally managed and accessibly priced new homes for renters across the UK. A huge welcome to all our new team members – I look forward to working with each of you as we build this exciting and crucial new living platform within the Moda Living portfolio.”
Johnny Caddick, Chief Executive, Casa by Moda
Launching in late 2021, the Casa by Moda brand is backed by global institutional capital. The business is built on Moda’s core brand priorities of outstanding resident experience, health and wellbeing, ESG and leading technology.
Leveraging best-in-class resident service, brand partnerships and forward-thinking initiatives around smart technology and renewable energy, the platform will provide residents with an exceptional living experience and vibrant social communities – in suburban locations at accessible price points.
Casa by Moda residents benefit from long-term renewable leases of up to three-years with no upfront fees or deposits. The new neighbourhoods will be targeting a broad demographic with homes to suit all ages, budgets and lifestyles.
The technology-enabled neighbourhoods will connect residents to their communities through a bespoke app. This gives residents the power to manage their lifestyle through technology, from logging maintenance issues to booking a dog walker or organising a resident club or event. Homes will be fitted with smart technology sensors that will monitor environmental performance in real time – allowing residents to monitor their energy consumption while ensuring living conditions are optimal for a healthy, happy lifestyle within their homes.
From development to long-term operation, all Casa by Moda activity is guided by Moda Living’s cross-platform ESG Strategy, Next Generation Futures. Designed around the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, the programme includes a roadmap to net zero carbon operations and sets out targets and standards across the business’s environmental, social and governance operations.
Set to increase to up to 23% by 2025, 20% of all homes in the UK are rented. Casa by Moda neighbourhoods address the growing need for modern homes for rent to suit all ages and requirements across the UK.
