Developer Capital&Centric has announced the launch of Brunswick – its next Build to Rent development in Sheffield. Neighbouring the developer’s most recent scheme, Eyewitness Works, Brunswick – named after the pub that once stood on the site but shut down in 1964 – comprises 36 industrial-style apartments with exposed polished concrete and high-end fixtures, offering a contemporary alternative to the Grade II-listed red-brick cutlery works next door.

The two Build to Rent buildings make up one community, with all residents having access to three lush courtyard gardens. One features a giant friction screw press as a reminder of the building’s past, alongside private dining, lounge, and mini cinema space.

The newly completed properties at the Brunswick development will be available to rent next month, with the team opening the doors for potential residents to look around during a preview day on Saturday 11 May, from 10am to 3pm.

Capital&Centric have released the fully furnished one- and two-bed apartments including some stunning duplexes, including more one-, two-, and three-bedroom character-packed homes in the 1852 Eyewitness Works.

It follows strong demand for the first phase apartments, launched on completion. A third building, Ceylon Works, is due for completion later this year. The first phase of Eyewitness Works, launched at the end of last year, saw substantial demand and are now fully let.

“The first homes at Eyewitness Works flew out the door and there’s a fantastic community forming there now, with residents regularly meeting up and spring seeing the hidden gardens come into their own. Our day one mission was always to raise the bar of the standard of rental homes in the city and we’ve done just that with Eyewitness and Brunswick. We’re proud to be bringing more standout homes to the city, with more people now able to call the historic works home and Brunswick offering an alternative for those who prefer a super modern, contemporary vibe. Sheffield’s undergoing a real transformation now and it’s brilliant to be part of the change.”

Tom Wilmot, Joint Managing Director, Capital&Centric

The first residents at Brunswick can expect floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed concrete soffits, and space that is fully furnished with designer, sustainable HAY furniture. Renowned artist Phlegm recently put the finishing touches on a new mural at the Milton Street site, nicknamed ‘The Giant’ – a lasting reminder of his installation at the site in 2019-20.

Located in Sheffield’s Devonshire Quarter nearby the Devonshire Green, Eyewitness Works will eventually feature 97 loft apartments and town houses.

Known for its transformation of some of the North’s stunning historic buildings, Capital&Centric even brought Channel 4 to Sheffield, with Eyewitness Works featuring weekly on The Big Interiors Battle fronted by AJ Odudu last year.
