Since our launch just over two years ago, we incorporated ESG as a major part of our platform, covering subjects such as Health & Wellbeing, Diversity, Environmental issues and People. We are now thrilled to announce that we have become a Carbon Neutral Plus company, independently verified externally for Scope 1, 2 and 3, and achieving certification from Carbon Footprint Ltd. We’ve reduced greenhouse gas emissions associated with the operations of our business to zero in the year through to 30 April 2022, and we will continue in the years ahead to reduce our emissions further.
As an environmentally conscious company, achieving Carbon Neutral Plus is the next step in our sustainability journey. We believe in a better world, and we’re committed to reducing our impact on the environment by taking action to reduce our own impact to an absolute minimum. We already run on 100% renewable electricity generated from wind, sun and sea, and we have reduced our Scope 3 emissions by making environmentally conscious decisions to reduce the carbon we indirectly emit.
“Achieving carbon neutrality shows that our commitment to sustainability is not only the right thing to do for the sectors we provide publications in, but it’s also a business imperative. We have prioritised sustainable decision making, looking for opportunities to improve across all areas of the business. Integrating sustainability into our operations and culture has been key to creating involvement from the whole team.”

We have a comprehensive plan of strategically reducing our emissions year on year. This includes replacing large scale items such as plant, machinery and vehicles for green alternatives, to reducing less obvious emissions through supply chains, logistics, sub-contract and indirect emission activities.
One of the most important measures which has an immediate impact on reducing emissions from the outset are everyday items such as using green transport whenever possible, hosting more online meetings, turning down/off heating, lighting and A/C systems when not needed and a host of other measures.
We also conducted a review of offset projects which invest in nature and people for the emissions we can’t yet reduce to zero. We selected a diversified portfolio which removes carbon from the atmosphere whilst also supporting local communities across the world. These projects reflect our values and have the maximum impact for long term sustainability, conserving and creating natural climate solutions, and improving health and wellbeing.
We all have a personal responsibility to reduce our own carbon emissions as much as possible, and which are within our direct control. ‘Carbon emission awareness and reduction’ is embedded in our culture. We not only inspire, encourage, and reinforce sustainable practices during the working day but foster a culture that takes responsibility outside of the workplace. It cannot be ‘switched on and off’, it must become and remain a value in the same way as respect, diversity and equality.
As we strive ahead in our sustainability journey, we’re taking the steps we need to take, to transition towards a net-zero carbon world. With the climate challenges and energy uncertainty we all face, there has never been a more poignant time to share this message and help encourage others to adopt a sustainable approach.
“As we celebrate this important milestone, we understand that this is just one step in a much longer journey to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we can, to help share innovative and impactful ways to contribute positively to the environment, and to influence other companies on their own carbon emission reduction journeys.”
