Build to Rent developments that topped out in Q1 2024

A round up of Q1 2024 Build to Rent developments across the UK that have reached the topping out construction milestone.

Brent Cross Town

In February, Related Argent and Barnet Council topped out at the first Build to Rent building at the Brent Cross Town development. Designed by Squire & Partners and being constructed by Galliford Try, the North London scheme will deliver 249 new Build to Rent homes alongside residential amenities across three new blocks.

Homes are being delivered as part of a Related Argent and Invesco Real Estate joint venture. The development is set to complete in summer 2025.

Pepperpot House

Birchgrove’s Pepperpot House later living Build to Rent development in Godalming, Surrey, also topped out in February this year. The ceremony for the milestone achievement was attended by over 30 guests, including several residents who have reserved apartments.

The senior retirement scheme will deliver 52 one- and two-bedroom self-contained rented apartments for people over 65. 

Farnworth Green

In March, Capital&Centric announced the topping out of its Farnworth Green Build to Rent development in Greater Manchester. Mayor Andy Burnham, Bolton Council and BTR News joined the developer on-site on 21 March 2024 to mark the major construction milestone. They were also joined by young people from the not-for-profit organisation Regeneration Brainery.

The new scheme will include 85 one- and two-bedroom apartments and 12 two- and three-bedroom family homes, alongside 20,000 sq ft of space for bars, cafes and independent stores. 

Moda, The McEwan

Moda Group topped out the second and final phase of its wellbeing focussed development – Moda, The McEwan – in Edinburgh, Scotland in March. The topping out milestone was marked with a celebration attended by representatives from Moda and construction partner Robertson, Scottish Housing Minister Paul McLennan, and City of Edinburgh Council members.

The development will deliver 476 homes alongside residential amenities including resident lounges, private dining room, co-working space, roof terraces and a 24/7 gym with Technogym equipment.
