BNP Paribas Real Estate (BNPPRE) announces the appointment of an industry leader as its Head of Residential Capital Markets. The appointed – Andrew Screen – joins the company from Cortland, where he headed up investment in Europe for almost four years.
Prior to Cortland, Andrew held senior roles at ReSI Capital Management, CBRE and GVA. Highly regarded for his deal making successes as well as an expert Build to Rent commentator, regular speaker, chair and moderator at conferences across Europe, he will lead the team alongside Simon Williams, Head of National Markets. Andrew will provide market-leading intelligence to clients seeking to capture the activity and growth within the Build to Rent sector.

Andrew has a background in merchant banking, property development, investment, and structured finance and was instrumental in rolling out Cortland’s £4bn Build to Rent development and investment platform in the UK. He has over 20 years’ experience in residential development and investment and was a pioneer in Build to Rent, forward funding, development, joint ventures and investment. Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and sits on the BPF Build to Rent and UKAA Investor Lender Committees.

BNPPRE’s Residential Capital Markets team is currently advising on the forward funding of over £800M (GDV) of Build to Rent projects – making the team one of the most active in the market. Recent projects include acting for Marrico Asset Management and Helios Real Estate on the forward funding deal from UK Commercial Property REIT on the £62.7m 305-bed Hyatt hotel in Leeds.
Andrew’s new role follows the recent appointments of Katrina Love, Leasing Director and Andrea Wlliams-Wedberg, Sales Director (West End Agency); Fergus Keane, Head of Central London Investment; Harry Douglass, Director (Hotels); Donna Rourke, ESG Director and growth hires in key regional offices.
