London investor-developer – Avanton – launches its Build to Rent portfolio and new A:Living brand, with luxury dressed units at their flagship development Coda in Battersea, as part of their major expansion into London’s Build to Rent sector.

Coming from Avanton Living, A:Living is Avanton’s new brand under which they will operate Build to Rent units across the capital, with the first 20 units now launched and available at Coda. The premium two-bedroom apartments are pepper potted between the 2nd and 20th floors. Each apartment has a private terrace overlooking either the London skyline or the landscaped gardens.

Avanton collaborated with three interior designers such as Andrew Martin to curate the portfolio, with all the apartments available fully furnished. Residents will benefit from Coda’s lifestyle amenities – including a private residents’ club lounge, dedicated concierge and a state-of-the-art fitness studio – as well as access to the landscaped gardens.

“Since its initial launch off-plan we have seen significant demand for the quality on offer at Coda, and the launch of our first Build to Rent units now offer a new type of tenure option for Londoners. A:Living will provide exceptional homes with stylish interiors curated by highly regarded designers. Build to Rent homes provide a solution to help with the capital’s housing shortage, and these multiple tenure schemes offer tenants a sought-after lifestyle at competitive prices.”

Architecturally striking, Coda’s central tower sits at 23 storeys high and was designed by Pankaj Patel MBE of multi-award-winning practice Patel Taylor,  a leader in Thameside architecture. Despite market challenges during 2021, Avanton successfully sold £50m of homes at the flagship tower, with the final collection of homes and new Build to Rent portfolio remaining.

The launch of A:Living follows Avanton’s expansion plans into the Build to Rent sector, with a £500m fund for strategic land acquisitions and several key pipeline projects. On Old Kent Road in Southwark, Avanton has consent for the £730m (GDV) Ruby Triangle project which will provide 1,414 new homes, of which circa 50% will be Build to Rent. The Farrells designed scheme will comprise residential towers between 17 to 48 storeys high, designed around a central park. The scheme will include a sports hall, gymnasium, retail units, workshops and studios.

“The Build to Rent sector is rapidly growing across the capital and last year we committed to a three year expansion into this sector, seeking land and strategic opportunities to deliver high-quality purpose-built stock to meet the market demand. The launch of A:Living is an exciting step, with our pipeline developments set to further deliver a diverse portfolio of Build to Rent units for young Londoners to choose from.”

Omer Weinberger, CEO, Avanton

The A:Living Build to Rent units at Coda are fully furnished, with rental prices from £650 to £1,000 per week, available through Savills.
