London-based Build to Rent operator – Apo – is offering renters across the capital flexible living with digital solutions shaped by modern lifestyles. Through its resident app, tenancy management software, networking groups and social channels, Apo is designed to provide efficient, customisable living options for city renters.

Launched in December 2020, Apo Barking, the operator’s first scheme, recently reached full occupation in April 2022 across its 597 one- and two-bed apartments. The second scheme, Apo Kew Bridge launched in November 2021 and is located around the premier league stadium home to Brentford FC. It has since welcomed the first residents to its 487 new homes. Apo utilises digital solutions with the aim of simplifying everyday life for its members and foster new connections between neighbours.

The Apo resident app offers residents neighbourhood news and an event booking platform for it’s rolling programme of resident activities – including yoga classes, live music events, food markets and workshops. The app also allows members to contact the on-site team regarding maintenance queries, log expected courier deliveries, receive announcements about upcoming events and forge new social connections, such as book clubs and running groups. The What’s Around Me feature showcases local businesses surrounding the development, many of which offer promotions and discounts to Apo residents.

“Providing a personalised service is key to attracting and retaining good tenants who are looking for homes that truly fit their needs. Our resident engagement portal is tailored exactly to the building and its occupants, streamlining processes, organising facilities and forging friendships.”

The app also enables Apo members to control their lifestyle services through a subscription-based model, allowing them to pick the promotions, discounts and benefits they want. Since its launch, 87% of Apo Barking residents have downloaded the app, and there have been over 388 posts and comments made on online social clubs since January 2022.

The Apo Instagram platform showcases the development’s amenities, activities and pets. Apo also manages private social media groups for residents to strengthen relationships between new neighbours through encouraging conversations and interactions. By providing a space for residents to make friends, share hobbies and coordinate their own activities, Apo’s digital platforms aim to help build an authentic sense of community.

Behind the scenes, Apo worked with resident engagement and property management software provider Spike Global, to tailor and deliver both the resident app and the lettings platform with the aim of setting Apo apart from other rental providers. Its tenancy management software allows prospective residents to view available properties online, make enquiries, reserve apartments online, submit the necessary paperwork and sign contracts. This portal is designed to offer city dwellers a simple option when it comes to finding a new home.

“Apo is all about being ‘a part of’ a thriving, exciting city lifestyle, and we are delighted that our tenancy management software and resident engagement portal are helping to create these lively new communities.”

Apo Kew Bridge apartments are available to move into immediately, with studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments across four buildings.
