Apache Capital announces the appointment of former LIV Consult BTR Director – Ashley Perry – who joins the company as Investment Director, bringing with him over a decade of experience.

From December 2017, Ashley oversaw Liv Consult’s London office, managing the Build to Rent and Co-living consultancy teams on its £4bn GDV, 30,000 home portfolio across the UK, Ireland and Spain.

Prior to his role at Liv Consult – which was acquired by Atlanta-based residential investor-developer-operator Cortland in 2019 – Perry held positions at Canada’s BTY Group and JLL, where he was a senior project and development manager across a number of Build to Rent schemes in London.

“Ashley will be instrumental to the success of our ambitious plans for the year ahead as we look to build on our market-leading position in Build to Rent, with ground-breaking platforms in both single- and multifamily housing.

“The pandemic has only strengthened the case for residential for rent, which has demonstrated its resilience as an asset class and continues to represent an attractive alternative to traditional institutional investments in the higher inflation, low interest rate environment we find ourselves in.”

John Dunkerley, CEO and Co-founder, Apache Capital

Perry will be working closely with Apache Capital’s senior leadership team to shape the company’s investment strategy. After landmark investments in purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and senior living, Apache Capital now focuses exclusively on Build to Rent, and building a best-in-class, long-term investment portfolio.

“I have long admired Apache Capital, with the company having been at the forefront of UK living real estate and taking a pioneering approach that has delivered sector-shaping investments that set new industry benchmarks.

“This is an exciting time to be in UK Build to Rent, with an ever-growing amount of capital looking to enter single- and multifamily housing and I look forward to working with the wider Apache team in shaping the next chapter of the company.”

Ashley’s appointment follows a number of promotions and hires at Apache Capital last year, as well as the formation of a strategic partnership with KKR to invest £610m into its multifamily housing pipeline with developer Moda Living.

Last year Apache Capital also launched Present Made – the UK’s first branded, vertically integrated single-family housing platform. Led by CEO Richard Jackson and Executive Director Alan Penfold, Present Made will deliver over 3,000 precision engineered smart homes for rent across the South East of England as part of an initial £1.6bn pipeline.
