Operating from nine offices across the UK and multiple lines and property types, award-winning real estate advisory firm Gerald Eve has now joined Newmark, after becoming a well-established name in the real estate sector.
With the acquisition of Gerald Eve, commercial real estate services provider Newmark is positioned to be a market leader in office, logistics and retail in the UK and Europe.
“Gerald Eve is a market-leading advisor in the UK”
Barry Gosin, Chief Executive Officer, Newmark
Not only will the collaboration of the two renowned firms become a significant step in the right direction for the future of both companies’ success, but the market will wholly benefit too.
“Joining a top global commercial real estate services company creates significant growth opportunities for Gerald Eve’s clients and our people. For almost 100 years, we have prided ourselves on our market expertise and commitment to client service and, following record revenue in the latest financial year, Newmark’s backing will further strengthen our capability to operate at the top of our game.”
Simon Prichard, Senior Partner, Gerald Eve
With the arrival of Gerald Eve Partner Bobby Barnett in 2021, this new venture for the company showcases the exponential growth they have experienced in the past couple of years alone.
Furthermore, the London based business has made noteworthy contributions to the Build to Rent sector during this time. Advising on a variety of assets from its ‘living’ platform, including co-living and student accommodation, Gerald Eve generated net revenues of £92.7m (U.S. $111.4m using current exchange rates) in net year 2022.
Over half of 2022 net revenues were from management services businesses.
Gerald Eve joining forces with Newmark means that the company is now set to become a market leader in the office, logistics, and retail sectors in the UK and Europe.
“Gerald Eve adds momentum to our goal of having more than 10% of Newmark’s revenue generated from outside the United States by 2025. The closely aligned values and culture of Newmark and Gerald Eve position this combination for continuity and undisputed industry expertise.”
Barry Gosin, Chief Executive Officer, Newmark
With Doug Harmon and Adam Spies recently joining Robert Griffin and Kevin Shannon as Co-Heads of Newmark’s US Capital Markets business, the company is well positioned to expand its capital markets business on an international level.
Simon Prichard will continue to serve as Senior Partner of the business post-closing, alongside Managing Partner Simon Rees.
