Developers partner with HomeViews as reviews site traffic grows by 400%

Residential property review site HomeViews continues to add high-profile developers to its partner roster, thanks to traffic levels growing by over 400% compared with last year. The site has rapidly gained a foothold in the UK market since its launch in February 2019, collecting over 13,000 resident reviews of more than 1,000 new build developments across nine UK cities.

HomeViews rapid expansion and new features have attracted a number of prominent Build to Rent operators to join the site as partners recently. Tipi, Grainger, Legal & General, Urbanbubble, Amro Living and Be:Here have all signed up since March, as well as well-known BTS developers such as Berkeley Homes, Argent, St George and Ballymore.

How does HomeViews work?

Dubbed ‘the TripAdvisor for property’, HomeViews allows residents to rate and write detailed reviews for their development. Reviews from verified residents, who share insights about what it’s like to live in the development, have the biggest impact on the building’s scores.

In contrast to other review platforms like Trustpilot or Google Reviews, HomeViews proactively seeks reviews from residents. This gives a fairer view of what it’s like to live there – by drawing opinions from a cross section of residents, rather than only those proactive enough to write a review.

HomeViews reviews are also far more detailed than those other sites. Residents are asked to rate their building on Facilities, Management, Location, Design and Value. They also respond to additional questions that enable HomeViews to provide rankings and insights on who the best developers and Build to Rent operators are in the UK – as rated by residents.

Such in-depth reporting means that HomeViews now forms an integral part of the customer relations strategies of many developers and operators.

Developer partnerships

As well as detailed reports, HomeViews partners are able to use HomeViews to boost their visibility online. Partners can add additional content to their development and company pages, including films, listings and images to show available properties. They also receive design and content support for using HomeViews reviews within their marketing.

HomeViews aims to provide a balanced and fair perspective on what it’s really like to live in a building. HomeViews scores are typically higher than those on other platforms, as one verified resident can only write one review – this stops trolling or fake reviews. Property hunters, owners and tenants all benefit from this increased transparency, and developers trust that they are fairly represented and are accountable to their residents.

The future for HomeViews

Lockdown also provided the opportunity for HomeViews to address the changing needs of site visitors and add new features to the site. These included videos, live listings and virtual tours for partners’ development pages. 

Sales and rental enquiries are growing as a result, and extensive work on improving the user experience of the site has also reaped rewards. Google is increasingly listing HomeViews as a trusted source for home searchers, as HomeViews visitors now spend an average of more than 5 minutes on development pages and bounce rates are also remaining low at under 35%.
